The Conclave is happy to announce this year’s World Championship will be held at Tourney of Stahleck 2020 taking place the 19th-22nd of November. We are ecstatic for the chance to work with the incredible Stahleck team, and we appreciate their willingness to hold the World Championship this year.
In such uncertain times, we thought it was in the best interest of the community to hold the World Championship at a well-established tournament. The Tourney of Stahleck is the premiere event in the AGOT community, and has historically been the largest tournament in the world each year. Those of you who have attended Stahleck understand that it is an event like no other. The Stahleck experience is one every player should strive to attend at least once in their life.. All Road to Stahleck event winners will be given a BYE for the World Championship.
We are aware that, due to COVID-19 and related travel restrictions, there is a chance that the Tourney of Stahleck does not take place. The Stahleck organizers have announced they will make that decision by August 1st. In the event that the Tourney of Stahleck is not held this year, the Conclave will hold the World Championship online via TheIronThrone.net.
Please note: if the World Championship is held online, Road to Stahleck winners will still be able to use their BYE at the event and receive free entry. National Champions will also receive a BYE and free entry to the online World Championship. Some National Championships are also Road to Stahleck events, meaning the winner will have a BYE whether the World Championship is held at Stahleck or online.
