Presenting the Tower of Joy Draft Set: 2026 Edition

Hello Thrones community,

we are happy to announce that the much-coveted second print run of Tower of Joy Draft Packs and Starters has finally been completed! We are going to begin sending out all of the preorders in the coming days. Due to the overwhelming demand plus international shipping times, fulfilling every last order might take a while though, so please be patient. We’ll keep you updated!

In the meantime, here is what you can expect. The 2026 print run comes with a few small changes compared to the first print run we played at Stahleck 2025. This applies only to the Draft Packs. The 2026 Draft Starter is identical to the ones given out last year, so everyone who already got one can keep using them.

First, to differentiate from the faulty 2025 print run, the new Draft Packs feature the “2026 Edition” subtitle both on the booster packs and on the display box. Since the contents are different (with fixed rarities and some other stuff that I’ll get to in a moment 👀), this means future draft events must make sure not to mix 2025 and 2026 packs. Each player participating in a draft event should verify that they received four identical packs with a 2026 Edition front, unless everyone agrees beforehand on drafting with faulty packs. Stahleck going forward will naturally use the 2026 Edition packs.

Next and most importantly, the new Draft Packs now have the intended rarity distribution. No more all-rare packs, sorry! This will make some cards play out differently from before. We’re excited for everyone to have a completely new experience drafting the fixed set!

Finally, I’ve used this second print run as an opportunity to make some minor fixes and adjustments to the card files within the draft set. This includes some technical and aesthetical fixes, but also a few mechanical changes to select cards. Just to be clear: this is a one-time thing and only happened because we were forced to order a second print run after the printer delivered faulty packs. There are currently no further plans to make more changes to the set even if we did another print run at some point. Anyway, if you want to see the changes, check below:

2026 card changes (SPOILERS)

All Men Must Die (ToJ 201) and All Men Must Serve (ToJ 225) both now have flavor text.

Arbor Jester (ToJ 188) and Stormcrows (ToJ 166) both now trigger on entering instead of coming out of shadows to be more in line with other cards in the set and offer more synergies.

Cast Me Forth (ToJ 32) now allows ambushing all Drowned God or Raider characters from your dead pile, even uniques!

Melisandre’s Gambit (ToJ 236) now has “Plot deck limit: 1” (sorry 😉)

Myrish Pirates (ToJ 17) have given up smuggling and are now a Raider instead of a Smuggler for even more synergies.

Stony Shore Thrall (ToJ 46) has hit the gym and now has 2 STR instead of 1. He also doesn’t have to kneel anymore to apply the choke effect!

Together with the second print run we are also adding an official Tower of Joy FAQ document with the draft rules, 2026 changes, and individual card clarifications. You can see the pdf on the agot.cards FAQ page and it will also be available on ThronesDB in the future.

Thanks again for all the positive feedback about this set, and thanks for everyone’s patience regarding the delayed second print run. Hopefully these fixed packs will make for an even better, slightly more balanced drafting experience and that this awesome community will have fun with the Tower of Joy draft format for years to come!
