It’s been more than two years since our community crowned the last World Champion at the FFG Headquarters in Roseville. A lot has happened since then and now it’s time to call the Banners and fight for the Throne again!

We are happy to announce that the Game of Thrones The Card Game World Championship 2022 will take place on the 21 and 22 of May 2022.
In the last years of the pandemic, when playing cards in person or traveling to tournaments was not possible, online play and tournaments became the new reality and the reason why we are still together! The Iron Throne website became our new headquarters. So it seems just logical that this year’s fight for the Throne will be Online.
Of course, we all want to go back to playing cards in person and meet with hundreds of other players at the castle of Stahleck, and I’m sure there will be a time for this!
Swiss: Saturday 21 May. Swiss starts at 12:00 GMT (we hope that this time allows most of the players around the world to compete, but of course, it will be harder for some of us).
Top cut: Sunday 22 May: Top Cut starts at 13:00 GMT.
Swiss rounds will depend on the number of players and there will be an Extended Cut for everyone with 2 or fewer losses (X-2).
- The Winners of the National Championships last year get a first-round Bye.
- To get all the information before and to communicate during the tournament, join the G.O.T Discord server: https://discord.gg/QPHx8RRnvD.
Entrance fee: 10$

“Don’t fight for a king. Don’t fight for his kingdoms. Don’t fight for honor, don’t fight for glory, don’t fight for riches, because you won’t get any.”
– Tyrion Lannister
So what are you fighting for? Besides lifelong honor and glory for winning this prestigious event, there will be some fantastic prizes and a lot of fun!
There will be announcements and presentations with all the great prizes in the next weeks, so stay tuned! But to start we already have something to share:
So prepare your best Deck and fight for the Throne 🙂
